 OBEDIENCE THE KEY TO DOMINION. 1SAMUEL 15:15. 

( Don't let it be partial....)

INTRODUCTION

It's a reality that God has called his children to live a life of Dominion but many Christians seems to be living below God's standard for our lives. Why is this so , may the HolySpirit enable us to live our lives as the creator meant for us to live in Jesus name.


* What is Dominion?

*What is obedience?

* What's God's standard of obedience?

*What is Partial obedience?

*Probable causes of disobedience.

*Dangers of disobedience.


DOMINION means the ability to gain control/ sovereignty over a thing.


OBEDIENCE means dutifully complying with the commands or instructions of those in authority.


GOD'S STANDARD.

Obedience to God connotes total compliance to His instructions. The following ingredients put in place makes a complete obedience.

WHEN, HOW and WHERE. God is a God of stand lord and principles. To be certain one has obeyed is to have passed the test of doing what he asked you to do at the time he chose(WHEN) with the appropriate direction he gave ( HOW) and at the exact place or environment (WHERE).


PARTIAL OBEDIENCE?

Partial obedience simply put in half obedience...for instance doing the *where* and *how* hereby omitting the *when* To God this is outright disobedience as we read from the  story of Saul.


PROBABLE CAUSES OF DISOBEDIENCE.

Logic/reason: You should know that Faith and reason are two parallel lines that can never meet. We have be warned in Proverb 3:5  ....not to lean on our own understanding. When we decide to reason out the instruction s God gives to us we are heading for disobedience which tends to destruction. The reality is God's instructions to man most of the times doesn't appeal to human reasoning. For example: 

Kill your son as a sacrifice for me (Abraham)

Give your last meal to the prophet. (Widow of  Zarephath)

Faith in general doesn't talk with reasoning. Hebrew 11:1.


VOICES OF MEN: We have a lot of intellectually sound people around us that may persuade from obeying the Lord. VOICES can also come in different forms :as Fear which tends to giving EXCUSES.


LACK OF KNOWLEDGE : The BIble says in Daniel 11:32 that does that knows their God shall be strong and do exploits ...I believe it's the lack of knowledge of the supremacy and the mightiness of God that makes people live in disobedience.


TRADITION: This is a very subtle factor that aids disobedience. Many are caught in the web of tradition and believes that God has a stereotype way of operating and if it is not that way it cannot be God whereas ourl God is a dynamic God ...he can speak audibly like the thunder and also can speak through a still small voice. He can be in the mountain top and also in the deepest valley.


DANGERS OF DISOBEDIENCE.

Discussing on the dangers of disobedience I will just focus on a general result of disobedience to God which is the WRATH OF GOD, which however can come in different forms.

1. Loss of an exalted position. For instance...Lucifer, Saul, Nebuchadnezzar (for a while)

2. He can consume with fire.

(Sodom and Gommorah)

3. Loss of sanity(in the case of Saul's temporal insanity)

4. Separation from God which leads to spiritual blindness and deafness.(Saul's experience d this he had to visit the witch at Endor )

5. Loss of ones intending crown reserved by God.

6.Lastly,is the eternal separation which is the greatest wrath of all.


CONCLUSION

We Christian's have been called to live a life of Dominion but we need to obey God completely in order to operate in this realm. Obeying God is simply doing what he has designed for us from the Holy Bible and also from the promptings of the HolySpirit which can never be outside of His word. I pray for you now to receive the grace to be prompt in obeying divine instructions.

May we reign with Christ on the last day in Jesus mighty name.
