Beyond her doubts
Beyond her doubt
(Mummy Sarah's plight) Genesis 18.
In Life there are situations that might have made one to accept a fate that is never God's intention. Due to fact of the duration of a predicament and also for some obvious facts that surrounds the predicament. Mrs Sarah Abraham's case was one of such. Early in her marital journey, she was expectant of the fruit of the womb like any new bride will, her expectations were constantly cut off every month she sees her period ( menstrual cycle)...she will cry at the sight of each flow and this continued for years....Her fears became much when she started seeing in her mirror as grey strands of hairs were coming out from her hair. That was just a minor fear. The great blow was her observation after her 54th birthday and she realized her monthly flow had ceased... she sighed and said in her heart π....*it is finished*.This is it...the promise, the expectations, all is finished. I can't be among those that would be referred to as MOTHER. She accepted her fate... loved her husband so much and sought for an alternative (Hagar).
Envisaging into the happening in the book of Genesis 18, I write down this piece.
THE SARCASTIC LAUGHTER
(After the angelic visitation)
Sarah: They heard me laugh π
Why won't I laugh? But it really, it sounds ridiculous....Me!!! bear a child at this age. I couldn't help but laugh.π
THE VOICE: Sarai...
( A husky and pleasant voice spoke)
Sarah: That's not my name anymore...
THE VOICE: Really!!! What's your name?
Sarah: Am now Sarah
THE VOICE: I re-christened you, why did you accept to bare that name ?
Sarah: My husband told me and she mutters Erm erm
THE VOICE: Sarah, I don't like being doubted, haven't read or heard of my mighty acts and deeds. How I spoke the world into existence out of nothing ( Sarah looks up in a poise of remebrance) and how in the fury of my rage I wiped out thesame earth with a great flood. Sarah I can kill and I can make alive. Sarah, Sarah I am the ALMIGHTY. ( Sarah jolted out of her vision/ dream/ trance.
Sarah: ( she stood and worshipped God with all her heart...singing the song * all things are possible*π shouting at the top of her voice : I believe Lord, help my unbelief.
Sarah got up from her worship mood , went into the bathroom , took a thorough bath as the fragrance of her bathing soap took over the entire house. She spent sometimes in the Bathroom singing and chanting on the almightiness of God.
For the first time in a long years...Sarah looked into the mirror through the eyes of faith ...she saw a younger rejuvenated Sarah...she kept saying * all things are possible* .
She sprayed the whole house with a lovely rose πΉ flower fragrance....the room was neatly arranged as ever . She remembered the last time she was intimate with her husband , a smile curved her lips.
Abraham came in to the welcoming scent of her fragrance and saw her in a beautiful satin night gownππ. He said : the last time I saw you wear this....πhe gave a wide smile ( he hushed sweet words into her ears...come close mama, it's been a while darling, all things are possible Sae Baby πto us that believeth...I will be easy with my love......
The light fades....in few months the word became flesh....The laughter of Joy arrived.
Mummy Sarah lifted up her Laughter ( Isaac) and she said the following Thanksgiving prayers.
SARAH'S PRAYER
*Oba to so yeye mi di ayeye*
The Lord that turned my ridicule to a miracle
* Oba to so Egan mi d'ogo*
The Lord that turned my reproach to glory.
* Oba to so ekun mi di Erin*
The Lord that turned my weeping into Laughter
*Gba gbogbo ogo*
Take all the glory.
To my beautiful readers, there might be some peculiar situations in Life that we may have taken as fate especially because of it's duration and situations that surrounds it...I encourage you today to take God at his word and believe... What is word for you concerning that situation...are you single and of marriageable age? Are you unemployed and seeking for a job? Is your health condition the challenge? Are you seeking for the fruit of the womb? Are you in debt? Are you constantly in lack? Whatever the situation is believe God....Sarah doubted intially but she took the step of faith of * love making*π with Daddy Abraham. Cry out to God to help your unbelief. Take the step of standing on his word. I trust God he always comes through especially when it seems all hope is gone.....God is faithful...If he has said it...He will do it. Be encouraged.God bless you
Thanks for reading.
